Privacy policy

What we collect

• Account details: your email address and your plan. You sign in with one-time codes we email you; there are no passwords.
• Email checks: when you create an account, ZeroBounce, an email validation service, checks that your address can receive mail. It returns details about the address, which can include a name, gender and approximate location linked to it, and we store them with your account to keep out fake and throwaway sign-ups.
• Payments: Stripe processes them. We receive your subscription status and the last details Stripe shares with merchants, never your full card number.
• Car pages you create to sell a car: the car's details, photos, documents, your name and the contact choices you make. Messages buyers send you through a page are emailed to you.
• Email alerts: the searches you save and the address we send them to.
• VINs and links you look up, so we can decode the car and find it in our listings.
• Usage data: pages visited, approximate location from your IP address, browser and device type, collected by our servers and by Google Analytics and Ahrefs Web Analytics. The site sets a session cookie to keep you signed in, and the analytics tools set their own cookies.

The ChatGPT app and other AI assistants

When you use Luxury Car Deals in ChatGPT, or connect it to another AI assistant, the assistant calls our tools on your behalf. We receive only what it sends to answer that request:

• The search words and filters it chose (for example "white Porsche 911 under $200,000"), car numbers from earlier results, and any VIN or listing link you share.
• For "near me" searches only, the approximate location ChatGPT provides (city, region and rough coordinates). We use it to answer that search, round the coordinates to about 7 miles, and don't store it.
• Technical details of the request, such as the time and the IP address of the server that sent it (usually OpenAI's).

We don't receive your name, email address or ChatGPT conversation, the app has no sign-in, and we don't build a profile of you from it. We log the tool used, the search words and filters, and how long the answer took, to keep the app working and to see which searches it answers badly. Links in the app's answers carry campaign tags so we can count visits that came from it.

How we use it

• To run the site and the app: show listings, deal ratings and market data, answer searches and keep your account working.
• To send email you asked for: sign-in codes, receipts, alerts and messages from buyers. You can stop alerts and reminders from the link in any of them.
• To take payments and manage subscriptions.
• To keep the service secure and stop abuse, such as automated scraping and spam.
• To understand what people use and improve it, mostly from counts and trends.

Who we share it with

We don't sell personal information or share it for advertising. We share it only with the companies that run parts of the service for us, under their own privacy terms, and only what each needs:

• Hosting and data: DigitalOcean (servers) and Neon (database).
• Payments: Stripe.
• Email: Twilio SendGrid, and ZeroBounce to check new sign-up addresses.
• Analytics and logs: Google Analytics, Ahrefs Web Analytics and Better Stack.
• Spam protection: Cloudflare Turnstile.
• Vehicle data: auto.dev and the NHTSA, to decode VINs and look up listings.
• AI writing features you choose to use: OpenRouter and the model providers it routes to.

A buyer's message on your car page goes to you, the owner. We may also disclose information when the law requires it, to protect people or the service, or as part of a sale or merger of the business.

How long we keep it

• Account, alerts and car pages: until you delete them or ask us to delete your account.
• Server and app request logs: up to 30 days.
• Payment records: as long as tax and accounting rules require.

Your choices

• See, correct or delete your data: email us from your account address and we'll act on it within 30 days.
• Stop emails: use the unsubscribe or stop link in the email.
• Car pages: remove a page from its builder at any time.
• Cookies: block or clear them in your browser; the site works signed out without the session cookie.
• The ChatGPT app: disconnect it in ChatGPT's settings at any time.

Depending on where you live (California, for example) you may have more rights over your data. Email us to use them; we won't treat you differently for doing so.

Children, security and changes

The service is for adults shopping for cars and isn't directed to children under 16. We protect data with encryption in transit and access controls, but no service is perfectly secure. When this policy changes, we update the date at the top; material changes are noted on this page.
