Questions about Lotus deals

How do you decide a car is a deal?

We estimate a fair value for every car for sale from comparable listings: the same model and generation, trim, model year and miles, plus accident history, owners and transmission when the listing has them. The deal score, from 0 to 100, says how far under that fair value the asking price is, weighed by how much evidence backs the estimate. A score of 85 or more is a great deal and 70 or more a good deal.

Which Lotus cars are left out?

Cars priced so far under similar cars that the price needs checking first (often damage, a lease takeover or a typo), listings we haven’t been able to recheck in 45 days, and dealers who price nearly every car under market. They show as “Check this price” in search instead.

Why are some details locked?

Everyone sees how good each deal is, the price, miles, color and city. Premium shows which car it is (the VIN, the dealer and the listing link), what to offer, and a negotiation email written for the car. With a free account you can unlock one deal a month.

How often does this list change?

Fair values and deal scores are recomputed whenever new listing data comes in, and we check for new data every hour. Cars leave the list when they sell or the price stops being a deal.

Does a great deal mean a good car?

Not by itself. The deal score compares the asking price with similar cars for sale. Read the history report, ask for service records, and have an independent pre-purchase inspection before you buy.
