Porsche's Sonderwunsch team has 15 one-offs in the works, up to $15 million

Porsche is chasing higher profit per car with a sixfold Sonderwunsch sales goal and a lower break-even point, while the used 911 market sits cool.

Porsche's Sonderwunsch team is working on 15 one-off projects, with prices from just under $2 million to a reported $15 million, according to Carscoops' report on comments from Alexander Fabig, the company's vice president for product and individualization.

Fabig said the 911 GT3 S/C costs roughly 95% more than a standard Carrera, and that future projects could exceed a 200 percent premium over the base 911, as Porsche pushes for higher profit per car.

Few-offs fill the gap below one-offs

Road & Track reports that Porsche is also weighing few-off models, rarer than a typical limited edition but less bespoke than a true one-off. Fabig said, "Additional few-off offerings will play a key role," according to Carscoops.

Carscoops describes the Flachbau RS as the true one-off in that picture: a car built on a 2018 911 GT2 RS that draws on the 1978 Moby Dick race car. Carscoops also reports that Porsche has restored and updated 11 Carrera GT examples, charging up to $784,000.

Porsche targets sixfold Sonderwunsch growth

At its Capital Markets Day, Porsche laid out a strategy it calls Sportwagenschmiede '35, with value over volume as the guiding principle, Porsche's announcement says. The company plans to lower its break-even point to below 200,000 units and to raise Sonderwunsch sales sixfold in the medium term.

Road & Track points to the backdrop: Porsche's operating profit fell 99% in the third quarter of 2025, after U.S. tariffs and new competition in China.

The sources leave several questions open. They don't say which one-offs are coming or when they will be shown, or what the Flachbau RS cost, and it is unknown whether a 911 at that premium over base will be built. Fabig said, "We are not done yet."

Used 911 asking prices are down since August

In listings we tracked through Nov. 2, asking prices for comparable cars in our Porsche 911 price guide are 5.1% below their August 2026 level in a cool market, and a typical 911 takes 65 days to leave the market. From November 2025 to November 2026, comparable asking prices held steady.

There are 2,713 used 911s for sale at a median asking price of $157,000, across model years 2002 to 2026. Carscoops lists the cheapest 2027 911 at $137,850 with destination, a sticker price, not an asking price.

Of the used cars, 258 rate as great or good deals, and the best 911 deals include two older Turbos. A silver 2018 911 Turbo with 9,988 miles in Alhambra, California, is listed at $125,064, about $45,000 under its fair value. A blue 2007 997.1 Turbo with 63,346 miles in Fairfax, Virginia, asks $80,985, about $32,000 under fair value.

At 128 and 89 days listed, it is worth asking whether either price has room to move.
