Mercedes-AMG GT 4-door coupe EV wins praise from evo and Jalopnik
Used Porsche Taycans, the rival evo names, held steady in asking price between July and October 2026, and 94 of the 399 listed are rated great or good deals.
The electric Mercedes-AMG GT 4-door coupe drives well and has a few fussy details, according to first reviews from evo and Jalopnik. evo says the Porsche Taycan has competition, and Jalopnik called the car dynamite. The electric car shares its name with its V8 predecessor but has three electric motors in place of the V8.
According to evo, the motors are axial-flux units from British firm YASA, one on the front axle and two on the rear. The GT55 makes a peak 805bhp, and the GT63, with the same hardware underneath, makes 1153bhp. evo lists the GT63 at 2.4 seconds to 62mph.
Praise for the drive, quibbles on details
Jalopnik loved the way it drives. It praised the V8 emulation, the comfort, the roominess and the easier entry. Its one complaint: ventilation and massage are not available with the optional performance seats.
evo praised the powertrain calibration, the ride and what it called genuine duality. It found the design and the drive modes a little overwhelming, and the simulated gear ratios too short.
The simulation is AMGFORCE S+, which evo says imitates a nine-speed gearbox and a V8 sound built from 1600 AMG GT R sound files.
What Mercedes hasn't said about the US
US pricing, the US on-sale date and an official US range figure are not known yet.
evo lists UK pricing from £103,275 for the dual-motor GT53 and £120,095 for the GT55. Mercedes quotes a WLTP range of around 435 miles for the GT55 and GT63, and ultra-fast charging at up to 600kw is a £2000 option.
Taycan asking prices are holding steady
Our used data covers the Porsche Taycan, the rival evo names. In listings we tracked through Oct. 1, 2026, 399 used Taycans were for sale in the US, from model years 2020 to 2026, with a median asking price of $66,600.
Asking prices for comparable Taycans (same trim, model year and miles) held steady between July 2026 and October 2026. The lowest asking price in the listings we track is $40,100, on the cheapest Taycan.
A typical Taycan leaves the market in 54 days, and we rate its market warm. Of the listings, 94 are rated great or good deals against fair values in the Taycan price guide.
Two 2024 Taycans sit well under fair value
A black 2024 Taycan GTS with 31,184 miles in Marietta, Georgia, is listed at $75,000, about $20,000 under its fair value, and rated a great deal. It has been listed for 62 days.
A blue 2024 Taycan 4S with 21,326 miles in Waterford Township, Michigan, asks $70,290, about $15,500 under fair value, also a great deal. It has been listed for 42 days.
