Aston Martin Vanquish (2025 on) buying guide

The 2025 Vanquish is a V12 flagship with one brake recall to confirm, a thin track record, and servicing bills that run well into four figures.

The Vanquish as a used buy

The 2025 Aston Martin Vanquish is the third-generation car to carry the name, a front-engined, two-seat flagship unveiled in Venice on 2 September 2024. Deliveries began in the fourth quarter of 2024. It shares no bodywork with the DB12, and so far it is V12-only and coupe-only.

Power comes from a 5.2-litre twin-turbo V12 making 835 PS, or 824 bhp, with 737 lb-ft, through a ZF eight-speed automatic and an electronic rear differential. Aston claims 0-62 mph in 3.3 seconds and a 214 mph top speed. It suits a buyer who wants Aston's front-engined flagship and can live with a young car's unknowns.

Two things matter most. Every 2025 car falls under a brake recall, so confirm the fix was done. And the history is short, so the paperwork, the service book and the specification count for more than they would on an older car. For earlier cars, see our Vanquish (2014 to 2018) guide.

Vanquish years and versions

There is one Vanquish to choose from: the V12 coupe. No other engine or body style is offered at the time of writing, and production is capped below 1,000 cars per year, which is an annual ceiling rather than a total run.

The car's structure is carbon fiber over bonded aluminum, with a panoramic glass roof. Its wheelbase is 80 mm longer than the DBS, and Car Collector International says lateral stiffness is claimed to be 75 per cent greater than the DBS 770 Ultimate. Chassis aside, the cars differ by what was ticked on the order form.

Car Collector International names carbon-ceramic brakes, lightweight packages, popular color and trim combinations and rare factory options as the specification signals that drive value. It adds that over time, the most collectible cars will stand apart by their specification, color and an unbroken run of factory servicing. Updated brake software went into production for 2026 model year cars on 10 July 2025, so later cars left the factory with it. See every Vanquish for sale to compare specifications.

Common Vanquish problems

The Vanquish is new, so the fault list is short and mostly forward-looking.

Brake vacuum pump recall

Recall 25V532 covers all 2025 model year Vanquish. In certain conditions the vacuum pump can fail to produce vacuum, which cuts brake assistance, NHTSA's recall notice says. Signs are a hard pedal, longer stopping distances and a brake warning message on the dash.

Recall cause and remedy

The cause is a fault code, P050FFF, that stops the pump feeding the brake booster, carried over by the supplier from another maker's application. The fix is an ESP software update at an Aston Martin dealer, free, taking up to 3 hours. Aston reported no accident or injury caused by the defect.

Turbo and cooling hoses

Carlyle calls the twin-turbo V12's cooling and turbo oil-feed hoses the main long-term big-ticket watch item. It also says there is little field history yet, so treat this as a risk to price in rather than a known failure.

Early software bugs

Carlyle says early infotainment and electronics glitches are typically cured by a dealer software flash under warranty. Ask whether any such visits are on the service record.

Non-factory chassis repairs

The bonded-aluminum structure needs an authorized body shop for repairs. Car Collector International says non-factory bonded-aluminum work hurts value, so a repaired car needs proof of who did it.

What to check on a used Vanquish

With so little history, the paperwork does much of the inspecting.

  • Check that the recall 25V532 ESP software update has been carried out on any 2025 car, and get the dealer record.
  • Ask for the full service book and match the chassis number, delivery specification and options against the authorized dealer portal.
  • Check the electronic rear differential setup and every option against the delivery documents.
  • Inspect the panoramic roof glass and its seals for damage or stress marks.
  • Listen to a cold start and the boost build-up, which Car Collector International names as the main purchase-time V12 diagnostics.
  • Ask for any recall or campaign history beyond the brake one.
  • Verify the carbon-ceramic discs and pads against the service book, and ask whether the car has seen track use.
  • Look along panel gaps and underneath for any sign of repair, and ask who carried out any bonded-aluminum work.
  • Ask the seller about the rear tires, since they wear quickly, and check how much tread is left.
  • Look for dealer visits for software updates and ask what was fixed.

Vanquish running costs

Servicing is due every 12 months or 10,000 miles. Carlyle estimates the 10,000-mile service at $900 to $1,700 and the 20,000-mile service, with a brake fluid flush, at $1,600 to $3,000. The 30,000-mile visit is put at $1,200 to $2,200, and the 40,000-mile service, which includes 12 spark plugs, at $3,000 to $6,000. Carlyle puts scheduled servicing at $12,800 over 5 years or 60,000 miles.

Carbon-ceramic brake replacement is the big wear item. Carlyle estimates $4,000 to $10,000, typically between 15,000 and 40,000 miles, and Car Collector International says they can only be replaced through the factory. Rear tires wear quickly at $1,500 to $2,500 a set, and Carlyle puts turbo and cooling hose repairs at $3,000 to $9,000 between 30,000 and 80,000 miles.

The Open Labor Project estimates maintenance labor at $22,260 over five years, about $4,452 a year at $150 an hour. Kelley Blue Book lists a 21.6-gallon tank and 16 mpg combined, on premium fuel. Warranty is 3 years or 36,000 miles basic, 3 years unlimited-mileage powertrain and 10 years corrosion. See our price guide for current values, or how much an Aston costs.

Vanquish recalls and complaints

NHTSA holds one recall campaign for the model years checked, 25V532, filed for 2025 Vanquish. It concerns the hydraulic service brakes: the vacuum pump may not generate vacuum, which reduces power brake assist. Check any car's VIN at NHTSA's recall lookup to confirm the software update has been done.

Owners have filed one complaint with NHTSA, about the engine, with no crashes, fires or injuries reported. A single report is a report, not a proven fault.

Our verdict

Buy the best-documented car you can find, with the brake recall closed out, a full dealer service history and carbon-ceramic brakes with life left. Car Collector International says the V12 holds up when properly maintained, but should be serviced at an authorized dealer to protect warranty and value. Browse used Vanquishes for sale and compare specifications before you commit. If you are cross-shopping, read Aston Martin vs Ferrari or Aston Martin vs McLaren.

Skip any car with gaps in its history or unexplained body repairs, since bonded-aluminum work outside the factory network hurts value. Budget for the hoses and brakes that Carlyle flags, because the track record is still being written.

Vanquish: common questions

What is the best Vanquish to buy?

There is only one version, the V12 coupe, so the best Vanquish is the best-documented one. Look for a full dealer service history, the brake recall completed and carbon-ceramic brakes in good condition. Specification and color also affect how well a car holds its appeal.

What goes wrong with the Vanquish?

The known issue is recall 25V532, where the brake vacuum pump may not generate vacuum and brake assist drops. A dealer software update fixes it at no cost. Carlyle also flags turbo and cooling hoses as a long-term watch item, though there is little field history yet.

Is the Vanquish reliable?

Too early to say with confidence, but the record so far is decent. NHTSA lists one recall and one complaint, and one complaint-based score rates the 2025 car 98/100. Car Collector International says the V12 is sturdy when maintained at an authorized dealer.

How much does it cost to run a Vanquish?

Expect four-figure bills regularly. Carlyle estimates services at $900 to $1,700 for 10,000 miles, rising to $3,000 to $6,000 at 40,000 miles. Carbon-ceramic brakes run $4,000 to $10,000 and rear tires $1,500 to $2,500 a set.

How much is a used Vanquish?

Asking prices for the 13 cars we track for sale right now run from $377,049 to $506,300, with a median of $430,220. Model year, version, mileage and history move the price most; the prices by model year and fair values on this page show where a car should sit.

Has the Vanquish been recalled?

NHTSA lists 1 recall campaign filed for the 2025 to 2027 model years as of Oct 31, 2026, the latest for service brakes, hydraulic. Not every car was affected, so check the VIN of any car you're considering at nhtsa.gov/recalls.
